In
April of 1996 we enjoyed a wonderful trip to the Grand Canyon. The first night
we stayed in Kingman, Arizona and then on the way to Williams, Arizona, we
stopped at a little shop with a large dinosaur out front that had an entrance
to a deep cave inside. It was something we weren’t used to in California, and
we all got a kick out of it. From Williams, we took The Grand Canyon Railway
tour to the Grand Canyon, The train ride was really fun. They had actors that
reenacted a robbery and shoot out on the train. We all really enjoyed that.
Touring the Grand Canyon was really scary for me, because there are not many
rails or fences to separate you from falling into the Grand Canyon. I was so
nervous about the little ones, we hiked down the canyon about a mile and came
back. I was quite relieved when we finally got back on the train and headed
back to Williams. From there we went to Laughlin Nevada and had a few problems
with our hotel because we tried to sleep seven people in a room that was meant
for four people. We got in trouble at the pool because we had more people than
we were supposed to (a little embarrassing). We got it straightened out and had
a lot of fun playing in the pool with the kids. It was a really fun trip!
