Park City 2000
My dad (Richard Hardy) and my uncle (Martin Hardy) bought timeshares in Park City when I was in Junior High. These were traditional vacations that we took every year, celebrating Christmas and/or New Years at the Sweetwater Lift Lodge. I have many happy memories of learning to ski and visiting with my Hardy cousins. Eventually the family grew too large for us all to go at the same time, so I bought the New Years week and Maria bought the Christmas week. My brother also owed a unit across the street. Our family continued the tradition of spending many Christmas vacations in Park City learning to ski or snow board, renewing family ties and enjoying Park City. We also went tubing, traveled to Salt Lake and sometimes Provo to visit family.

Lake Powell 1999
In October of 1999 we traded one of our timeshares and rented a houseboat on Lake Powell. Kirk and Kacey, Kim and Nate and Jamie Hearold also went with us. We also brought a jet ski and our ski boat. Looking back, this was a wonderful and memorable vacation. The scenery and solitude was beautiful and awesome. But, if truth be told, it is a glorified camping trip on water with a lot of people in a very small space. We only had a few 'people' problems and thank goodness we could park and I could get off the houseboat everyday and enjoy the scenery on dry land. I was very nervous about baby Sarah falling off the boat and drowning, so that was a constant worry. One day Jamie and Amy got lost on the Jet Ski which had me very worried and I was constantly worried about someone getting hurt and us being miles away from medical help. While we had lots of fun and no major problems, this is not a vacation that we repeated again.

Beach Camping - August 1999
One
of our favorite family vacations during the summer is beach camping with the
Cooper family. We started in tents, but eventually purchased a trailer and
spent many wonderful summer weeks either at San Elijo State Beach or Carlsbad
State Beach. The days were filled with digging in the sand, boogie boards and
sun. Evenings were enjoyed around the campfire talking and making smores. We
enjoyed these beach trips so much, we eventually sold our house in El Cajon and
moved to Carlsbad where we can enjoy the beach life everyday.
