Sedona

 Now that we are retired, it is wonderful that we can take off and not have to worry about being back to work. And, while my mom is healthy, and my hip and knee are mostly recovered, we want to enjoy some trips. Sedona was wonderful, a little chilly, but not crowded and easy to get around. We enjoyed a hike everyday and spending quality time together. We loved our time in Sedona!

Trip to Utah, Pick up Mom

 We took a trip up to Utah to pick-up my mom and move her back to San Diego. We did some firsts this  trip, we had never been to Cedar Breaks National Park. It's just a small park and easy to drive through. It was a little chilly, so we did't hike, but Gary drove his truck up to the top of the mountain to catch the beautiful view for us. We got to Utah just in time to see the end of fall and the first snow. It was very chilly, but we did get one hike in not too far from Sarah's house in Pleasant Grove. We also picked up Sarah and Ethan to check out Sundance for the first time. In Park City we went to the Park City Museum, in all of our many visits to Park City, we had never done that, but very interesting for sure. On the way home, we loaded up my mom from Treeo to bring her home with us. She turns 90 in January and it is time for her to be closer to her children.

We've been so lucky to have Kelly and Collin living with us while Collin is finishing his fellowship and new job to start in December. We sure have loved getting to know Rowan better. Also such a treat to have Amy fly down with the kids all the way from West Virginia. We definitely don't get to see these silly girls enough. Charli and Harper are such good friends, it's fun to watch them together. And Calvin is as sweet as can be, we've fallen in love with him too.

A fractured knee!!

Well, this happened, and  the  worst part is I won't be able to go visit Amy  and meet baby Calvin!  Such a bummer, got hit by a  parked  car that lunged into my  knee while was walking in front of it. Fractured  tibia  plateau  fracture,  just a brace, no surgery. Such a bummer. AGH, it's been a rough year for this body. Gratefully there was no damage to my  

new hip!

 

Calvin Tate Arrives!

Congratulations  to Amy and Joe! Calvin Tate arrived 8/8/22, 8 lbs 12 oz. He's perfect, great job Amy! Calvin is grand baby number nine and third grand baby this year! We feel truly blessed.  Family's are the  best (we  just wish  they  were  closer, can't  wait  to meet him!) West Virginia is  too far  away.

 

Bryce Canyon Birthday Trip!

I usually plan my birthday week around a national park and this year we went to Bryce Canyon. We loved it, it was small, but majestic and not too hot. We stopped in Las Vegas to see the kids, St. George for a show and did a hike in Kanarra Falls along the way. Gary and I have  a great time traveling together. Great trip! Blessed!
